Role Overview
We are seeking a Director of field sales located in San Francisco or Los Angeles to lead, develop, and expand our independent Sales partner organization across our west coast markets. This leader will oversee existing 1099 sales partners while partnering closely with internal recruiting to hire and onboard new agents in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Diego. The role blends remote leadership with in-market support, including hands-on field coaching for sales partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and hold accountable a regional network of 1099 Sales Partners across West Coast markets, with expansion nationally over time
- Conduct weekly pipeline reviews, territory planning, and performance coaching to drive consistent production
- Deliver weekly training on product, integrations, and sales strategies, with a strong focus on accelerating new hire ramp and success
- Spend consistent in-field time where applicable supporting sales partners with prospecting and deal strategy
- Partner closely with recruiting to attract, interview, onboard, and develop high-quality sales partners
- Establish clear production expectations, CRM discipline, and professional communication standards
- Support sales partners on competitive positioning, pricing strategy, and complex deal execution
- Proactively identify underperformance and implement coaching, improvement plans, or replacement when necessary
- Drive ongoing enablement through product education, market insights, and field feedback
Desired Experience:
- Payments, POS, or FinTech leadership experience strongly preferred
- Must have experience managing independent 1099 or commission-based sales teams
- Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain field sales talent
- Strong understanding of merchant services economics and residual models
- High-accountability leadership style with a hands-on field presence
- Comfortable managing remote teams while remaining hands-on in market
- Excellent communication, recruiting, and relationship-building skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Based in San Francisco or Los Angeles markets
- 5+ years in payments, POS, ISO, or commission-based sales leadership
- Track record building and scaling regional sales teams
- Willing to travel periodically within CA and NV
Compensation + Benefits:
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): $135,000–$165,000
- Base Salary: $80,000–$105,000, based on experience
- Additional Earnings: Monthly commission overrides, ongoing monthly residual income, and quarterly production bonus
